Condo floor plans are much like apartments with a few important differences. Often they are indistinguishable from a duplex, triplex, quadraplex and commercial multi-family apartments. However, condominiums are associated with some form of individual or shared house ownership. Often condominiums, in recreational areas, are rented out by the day or week when the owner is not present. This provides a profit income or reduces mortgage payments. Usually, the interior space is individually owned and the balance of the property is owned, in common, by the individual proprietor who pays a fee for the common exterior maintenance. Utilities are generally the responsibility of each homeowner.

Condo living is enjoyed by people on the move who don’t wish to deal with exterior home and yard maintenance. In addition, larger, luxurious condominium complexes may have significant recreational and dining amenities.
