Manufactured home floor plans or factory built homes fall under three categories:
mobile, modular and panelized. Of the three categories, panelized homes are the
most popular. This is because they are appraised as site built homes and they
offer a full variety of architectural styles, because style is not inhibited
by over the road delivery of a wide load and height restrictions due to bridge
height limitations. Actually, panelized homes are sold more than mobile and
modular homes combined.
Panelization is also known as a component building technique.
It is only logical that engineered roof trusses, which are so popular today,
would evolve into exterior wall construction for the obvious economic benefits.
This offers a reduction in building time and a product that is engineered and
fabricated in a controlled environment by trained workers utilizing modern
production equipment.
Generally, buyers request their house package with the windows installed in
the walls, with a finished siding or a CDX siding for stucco, brick, etc.
to be applied on site.
Although all of the house packages in the Eagle’s Nest line of homes are panelized,
Eagle’s Nest can and does panelize houses packages for customers who provide a custom
plan. The ability of our fabrication plant to construct to custom plans,
(not in our home line) largely expands the selling market place for our
representatives who are seeking a home based business.
The Benjamin Franklin is a typical, simple panelized floor plan. We produce many
more complex residential and commercial packages.
Manufactured home floor plans are considered typicals, which in some areas where
seismic, wind or snow loading conditions exist, need to be modified to meet
ever changing building restrictions.
